Moky appears to be an updated version of Monkey for IOS. Monkey is still available for Android devices. Please read about Monkey as Moky functions similarly.
Moky or Monkey is a random video chatting app that encourages kids to chat with strangers. It uses video chatting (like Facetime or Skype) combined with a random social media meeting place. Basically, you don’t know who the app will connect you with. This is very similar to Chatroulette and Omegle. This app could be a potential place for predators to groom kids. There are reviews at Common Sense Media of adult men masturbating on this app.
Monkey, in its Terms Of Use, states in part: “…WHILE THE SERVICES ARE NOT PROVIDED FOR PORNOGRAPHIC PURPOSES OR FOR MAKING SEXUALLY EXPLICIT CONTENT AVAILABLE, YOU MAY BE EXPOSED TO CONTENT THAT YOU DEEM TO BE OFFENSIVE, INDECENT, OBJECTIONABLE, OR SEXUALLY EXPLICIT, AND YOU AGREE TO WAIVE, AND HEREBY DO WAIVE, ANY LEGAL OR EQUITABLE RIGHTS OR REMEDIES YOU HAVE OR MAY HAVE AGAINST MONKEY WITH RESPECT THERETO. YOU ALSO ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT THE SERVICE AND THE CONTENT AVAILABLE THROUGH THE SERVICE MAY VIOLATE APPLICABLE LAWS IN THE JURISDICTION YOU ARE LOCATED…”
My #1 recommendation is not allowing anyone under the age of 18 years old to use the app.
