That's why we offer a NBCC Credit Hours Training course to licensed counselors and social workers to provide them with the most up-to-date information about social media and online trends. Credit hours satisfy requirements for LSW/LCSW, LPC and LMFTA.

This full-day session will identify categories of social networking that law enforcement should be aware of and looking for with youth. Depending on the current trends, topics may include how the world has changed for law enforcement, what it means to be a digital law enforcement professional, why kids don’t talk to adults about technology, illegal behaviors online, the Dark Web, Tor browsers, Bitcoins, end-to-end encrypted apps, "parasite websites", sexual exploitation through social media and more.

The goal of our teacher training session is to inform educators on how to teach and guide the youth toward responsible social media behavior. Depending on current trends, topics may include how teaching youth has changed, understanding youth culture online, popular apps that are causing issues in classrooms, how youth could use technology to bully others in school, and more.
During the ninety minute training session for the community, you will learn how to educate and guide youth toward being responsible and safe on social media. Depending on current trends, topics may include how social media growth has changed, popular social media apps, how to hide behaviors with technology, creating digitally responsible youth, setting expectations, understanding digital youth culture, and more. This is an excellent training for parent groups, clubs, organizations and church groups.

Shape the Sky’s Founder, Ryan Klingensmith, is a parent and a licensed counselor who works with K-12 kids weekly. Through his work, he gains first-hand experience of how social media can impact kid’s and teenager’s mental health.
