“Tumblr Will Once Again Allow Nudity, But Not Porn”
In the mid 2010’s there was also a lot of mental health struggles circulating through Tumblr and I discussed the app at every training. I focused on the mental health struggles, the ease of finding drug related imagery and sexualized content that could easily be classified as soft-core p*rn.
Tumblr abruptly changed it’s policy on nudity in 2018 after underage content was discovered on the platform. Subsequently, there was a mass exodus of panicked users wondering where they would find or post porn.
Over the past 5 years kids using and discussing Tumblr with me has pretty much ended. This is not to say youth aren’t using it. The platform is very eye-pleasing for the artistic minded individuals and there is probably a population of youth that are still using it. I’m just not hearing about it like I did 5-8 years ago.
Recently Tumblr changed it’s policy on nudity. I’m not sure how this will evolve, but it could easily become an interest of youth again as it was in 2018 as an easy access (and free) site/platform to find sexual content. Here is an older app review I did of Tumblr for you to learn more about it.
